Before you begin measuring your head, make sure your hair is pinned up and lying flat (with or without a wig cap). Your hair must be prepared the same way you would have it right before applying the wig. This will eliminate bulges that distort head cont ours. Use a tape measure to measure. Do not stretch the tape measure tape when measuring.
How to take accurate measurements?
- When measuring, place your measuring tape right below your natural hairline.
- Measure holding the tape snug but not tight against the head.
- Ensure that the tape is flat against your head not allowing twists to develop on the tape.
- Consistency is key. Measure at least 3 times in order to ensure you are measuring correctly.
- Use a clothing measuring tape if possible.
Circumference of the Head: Position tape measure so its edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck.
From Forehead to Nape of Neck: Measure from front hairline at center of forehead straight back over the crown to the center of your hairline at nape of neck.
Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline: Measure from hairline at base of side-burn, up across the hair line keeping the tape along your forehead.
From Ear to Ear: Measure from ear to ear directly above the ear across top of head to the other ear.
From Temple to Temple: From temple to temple across the back of the head.
Nape of Neck: Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck.
